Enisala Fortress (Cetatea Yeni-Sale)
Perched high on a limestone hill overlooking Razim and Babadag lakes, Enisala is the only medieval fortress in Dobrogea that survived the Ottoman period virtually intact.
Built in the late 13th and early 14th centuries by Genoese merchants and Wallachian rulers, Enisala guarded crucial maritime trade routes connecting the Danube to the Black Sea.
The dramatic stone ramparts command panoramic views over the vast steppe and shallow waters of Lake Razim. Visiting at golden hour offers one of the most memorable light spectacles in Eastern Europe.
